West Midlands Police Confirm Two Arrests in Birmingham Teen Kidnapping Case

West Midlands Police have confirmed that two men have been arrested in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a teenage girl in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Ladypool Road, where the girl was reportedly forced into a car in broad daylight. Thanks to the swift actions of members of the public, the vehicle was stopped before it could leave the scene, allowing the girl to escape and seek refuge in a nearby shop.

The suspects, identified as Mohammed Ali, aged 49, and Luqman Ali, aged 20, both from Netherton, were arrested at the scene and have since been charged. Mohammed Ali faces charges of kidnap, false imprisonment, and assault, while Luqman Ali has been charged with kidnap.

Both men appeared before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court and have been remanded in custody. Police have confirmed that the victim is receiving support from specialist officers, and they have urged anyone with further information or footage of the incident to come forward.

Authorities have also addressed speculation circulating online, clarifying that both the suspects and the victim are of British Asian heritage. The incident has sparked concern across the community, with police praising the bravery of those who intervened and prevented a potentially tragic outcome. The investigation remains ongoing.
